Han Al American School is an independent, privately owned college preparatory school that offers a challenging academic program based on the best practices of the best schools in the US. It is a co-educational, bilingual school, offering students an education that will prepare them for entrance and scholarship opportiunites in top universities in the United States and across the world. Han Al American School was founded in 2008. We are a family-oriented school offering individualized attention to our students, with approximately 150 students, and a maximum class size of 16. We follow a blended Guatemalan and American Curriculum, 80% in English, and an international calendar from mid-August to mid-June. We comply with the Ministerio de Educación in Guatemala with 180 school days. The school-day schedule for students is from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Teachers stay until 4:00 offering extracurricular activities and remedial classes. We offer bus transportation to those students who require it. As a small but growing school we are constantly evolving and reevaluating ourselves. We believe in continually seeking better teaching methods, improving our facilities and creating enriching programs for our students.
