Casa Cakchiquel was built in 1948 by the Swedish Countess Aimee Spens and is located in the Altiplano of Guatemala - District Solola. It was was one of the first hotels on Lake Atitlan and, accoring to the legend was hosting Ernesto "Che" Guevara, Ingrid Bergmann and Aldous Huxly among other intellectuals, artist, painters and writers as guests at its best. Today the house is lovingly restored and features a Foto Museum with a fine collection of vintage fine prints of Guatemala's best photographers between 1880 and 1960 and is proud to host Radio 5, Solola's youth radio station, The japanese Restaurant Hana is responsible for excellent cathering and the rooms, the one of Ingrid Bergman and the room of the countes can be rented via airbnb.
